Power banks have been around long enough that most of them are pretty forgettable. Big number on the front, three ports, vague promises about how many times it'll charge your phone. The D-Link DPP-201 is a bit different - mainly because of that 65W USB-C output, which puts it in the territory of being useful for more than just keeping your phone alive.

D-Link A/NZ has just launched the DPP-201 here in Australia for less than $100.

What You're Getting

The headline number is 20,000mAh, which is a solid mid-to-large capacity - enough to fully charge an iPhone 17 Pro more than three times, or if you're a Nintendo Switch owner, you're looking at roughly three full charges from a single top-up.

The more interesting spec is the USB-C fast charging: 65W via Power Delivery 3.0. That's enough to charge a laptop - a MacBook Neo, a thin Windows ultrabook, that sort of thing. Most power banks at this price cap out at 45W or less, so 65W is genuinely useful if you're travelling with a laptop and don't want to lug the charger.

Key specs at a glance:

  • Capacity: 20,000mAh
  • USB-C output: Up to 65W (PD 3.0) - laptop charging capable
  • USB-A output: Up to 18W (QC 3.0)
  • Ports: 2x USB-C + 1x USB-A (charge three devices simultaneously)
  • Display: Digital LED showing remaining battery as a real percentage
  • Protection: Overcurrent, overvoltage, overcharge, overtemperature, short circuit

The three-port setup (two USB-C, one USB-A) means you're not stuck choosing between devices. The LED display showing an actual percentage rather than those useless four-dot indicators is a small thing that makes a real difference when you're trying to figure out if you've got enough juice left for the day.

Quick Take

At $99.95, the D-Link DPP-201 is in a reasonably competitive space, but the 65W output gives it a genuine edge over similarly priced alternatives. If you're mostly charging phones, there are cheaper options. But if you want one power bank that handles your phone, tablet, gaming console and a laptop without breaking the $100 mark, this might just fir the bill.
